Abercrombie & Fitch's return policy is 30 days for most items, with free in-store returns and a mail return fee. The policy applies to both Abercrombie & Fitch and Hollister (same parent company). Here's the full breakdown.

Standard policy

  • 30 days from purchase for a full refund to original payment method
  • Items must be unworn, unwashed, in original condition with tags attached
  • Receipt or order confirmation required

Final sale

Final sale items are non-returnable. During Abercrombie's promotional events — their clearance sales and seasonal promotions — final sale items are common. Check the product listing before completing a discounted purchase.

How to return in-store

Bring the item with tags and receipt to any Abercrombie & Fitch store. Refunds process to the original payment method immediately.

Abercrombie and Hollister operate under the same parent company (Abercrombie & Fitch Co.) but have separate store locations. You cannot return Hollister items at an Abercrombie store and vice versa.

How to return online

In-store: Free. Take your online order to any Abercrombie store.

By mail: Start the return at abercrombie.com. A prepaid return label is provided; a $7.00 fee is deducted from your refund. Refunds process within 5–7 business days of the warehouse receiving the return.

Hollister

Hollister returns follow the same 30-day policy. Hollister and Abercrombie stores are separate — return Hollister purchases to Hollister stores.

abercrombie kids

Abercrombie's kids line follows the same 30-day return policy. Same condition requirements and mail return fee apply.

No receipt

If you have an Abercrombie account, your purchase history is accessible. Guest checkout purchases require the order confirmation email to process.

The honest read

Abercrombie's policy is standard. Thirty days, free in-store returns, a $7 mail fee that's easy to avoid by returning in person. The main thing to know is the brand separation — Hollister and Abercrombie stores are distinct return locations.

Abercrombie resale

Abercrombie has genuinely repositioned itself since the early 2010s — their current designs are significantly more wearable and hold better resale value than the brand historically did. Core denim and staple pieces resell moderately well on Poshmark and Depop.

If you have Abercrombie pieces you're not wearing, Cove can show you what they're worth on the secondary market before you decide what to do with them.
